Hi Bev, I am in the middle of rereading Saving Grace right now, too!!! Gosh, but I just love these kinds of books, scottish/medieval; it's just like stepping back in time!!! I have to recommend Paula Quinn to you, while her style is not really one that I'd compare to JG, it's still just as lovely in its own right. In fact, perhaps my favorite of all medieval romance that I've read is her book, Laird of the Mist, which features my 2nd favorite all-time hero, Callum MacGregor. The book is so unique to me because the setting is real, is historically true, but the romance within it is not, of course. Anyway, all of her books have been wonderful reads to me, some of my favorites...here is the list in order: Lord of Desire (Book 1) (love that Brand as well...he is SMOKIN'!!!) Lord of Temptation (Book 2) Lord of Seduction (Book 3 - featuring a secondary character who almost overtook the hero as my favorite, lol...and one who will one day have his own story!!!) Laird of the Mist (Book 1) A Highlander Never Surrenders (Book 2) Also, have you ever read Samantha James? Another all time favorite author of mine....but the two medieval themed books from her that I've read and just adored are: His Wicked Ways (Book 1) His Wicked Promise (Book 2 - and boy, is it a wicked promise, lol) Let me know if you have read or do read any of these, as I'd love to hear your opinion... Apart from Julie Garwood, two authors who stand out for me when it comes to Scottish Medieval novels are: Monica McCarty - her first series is Highlanders Untamed, Highlanders Unmasked, Highlander Unchained. Her latest series just out is Highland Warrior, Highland Outlaw and Highland Scoundrel. Mary Reed McCall - The Templar's Seduction, Beyond Temptation and Sinful Pleasures - these three books make up The Templar Knights series. Another great author is Judith McNaught's - A Kingdom of Dreams (think that is the title)which is also fabulous. I just reread Saving Grace and yesterday I read The Bride both brilliant books.

I will reenforce the suggestion of Paula Quinn loved all her books. Two other authors are: Karen Hawkins...you may be familar w/her if you read any of JULIA Quinns novellas as she always writes w/her. All her books are Scottish although, I don't think they are medievals (which I am a big fan of BTW). but: she is a terrific writer and very humorous. The others are more like JM Johanna Lindsay has several books One is a Medieval I have to look up the title don't know it off the top of my head. She also wrote Love me Tender which I love love love a sequel to that which again I have to look up the title and the Heir. There is also a NOvella called Scottish Brides.....I have it so I can't think why I can't remember who the authors were but it was a really good one as well. Mickey "Fugghedaboutit" |

Wow, I did something yesterday that I haven't done in far too long....I read a book in one sitting!!!! Or should I say, one laying!!! LOL, I stayed propped up on pillows in bed all of yesterday afternoon rereading Samantha James' His Wicked Ways.... Wow, I had forgotten how much I loved that book and those characters and now, I can't help myself...I'm going to start on the follow-up book, His Wicked Promise. I am so in the mood for a sexy Highlander now and nothing else will do!!!!! If they were to both walk into the room now???? Well, the only logical thing that could be done..... They'd draw straws to see who stays today and who comes tomorrow.... DUH!!!!!
