Subject: "Mckettrick's Series by Linda Lael Miller..." Archived thread - Read only

"Mckettrick's Series by Linda Lael Miller..."
 
Hi Girls, I have been reading "McKettrick's Luck"... And I got to thinking where did "McKettrick's Corporation" come from??? It's a Multi Million Dollar Company... Something that can't just happen overnight... Did I miss a book??? Is there a book between "McKettrick's Choice" & "Sierra's Homecoming"...

The books of the series that I have are "High Country Bride", "Shortgun Bride", Secondhand Bride", "McKettrick's Choice", "Sierra's Homecoming", "McKettrick's Luck", "McKettrick's Pride" & "McKettrick's Heart"...

Or Was it explain in "Sierra's Homecoming"??? And I have forgotten it...

Am I going Mad...lol Please tell me I'm not...

Lee,

I read Sierra's homecoming a few months ago so I can't remember the names butttttttttttt, I do recall it existed in that book. I think Sierra's mother helped build it. I know the Dude in the book used to work there and Sierra was supposed to work there.. I'm feeling vague about it though.

Mickey, I read it not so long ago to... And I remember all what u said...

I just find it weired that there was no mention of how this company came about...

I vaguely remember something about her mother's depression after Sierra was stolen from her....I think she lost herself in building it or immersing herself in it. I don't recall how it started. However, if you will recall, the brother they are descended from was the one who was from the first wife....he was self made and most definitely an entrepreneur so I don't doubt that he or his son started it....(wasn't this the book where his son's wife was like a ghost or something????).

I also read the series, but can't remember how the McKetrick Co got started. Some books I read "in one bite" and don't savor what I've read. Others I take my time with and can remember more about what I am reading. The McKettrick series was like a bag of candy--I gobbled it down so fast I didn't have time to savor the flavor. Does that make sense??? Back to the question--no, I don't remember how it got started, but they sure as heck had a lot of money if Jesse McKettrick could play poker to his heart's content, never work a "real job" and still have more money than he and his future grandkids could ever spend.

I know exactly what u mean Mary... I do the same...

It just has me how this company came about... U would think she would have put an explanation in "SH"... I don't like it when things aren't explain properly... U are left hanging...

The new Silhouette coming out in December is "The McKettrick Way". I was just reading on LLMiller's blog, and she is getting ready to start writing a new book, "A McKettrick Christmas".

Ooooh I'm going to have to catch up. My library didn't have the whole "Luck", "Pride"....series....however, the new library I've been going to has them. I'll have to put them on hold and read them before all the new ones come out.

Lee,
I just stumbled on this topic and I know its been a long while. Just in case you never found out, McKettrick Co. was founded by Holt Mckettrick in McKettrick's Choice. If you re-read it you'll find that Holt helped John Cavanagh out and he agreed to accept the help as long as the company was called McKettrick Cattle Company which in later books became McKettrick Co. That's why they were based out of San Antonio where Holt grew up and met Lorelei.
