WOW, isn't that wonderful! So many places honoring our military. I know there are several more doing special things for our troops...both past and present. Thanks for posting it.

We have been involved in 2 events all ready this weekend and on Tues morning we are going to one of the local schools (grades K-9) to do the POW/MIA table ceremony. A friend of ours' daughter is a teacher there and they were planning out the day (it was to be a day off from school, but it is a make up day from days lost during TS Fay back in Sept). One of the teachers she is working with had seen one and thought it would be nice to do one, well our friend said I know just the guy to call! She was just here to go over it. I'm just so happy to see the kids interested in it.

Oh, that is nice Lynda!

I think it was in 2004, that I was able to utilize all the military free days; Knott's, Disneyland and Seaworld, and then got in for free at Universal Studios because we went on the free peace officer/fire fighter day with my mom.

It was nice for the kids because dh was gone and we were living with my family in CA for about 3 months and they missed daddy and home. I was able to get in for free vs discount for spouses because I had his orders with me.

We also went to Disneyworld in 2003(I believe it was 2003, right after the war started) when they did the military appreciation promo. dh got a free 5 day park hopper ticket and the kids and I got ours for either 40 or 50% off.

We also got 40% off our hotel and we got a discount on our airfare.

We had been planning a trip anyway, but we were going to be on the major budget plan becuase of the airfare and the price of the tickets, etc.

We were able to stay at Caribbean Beach instead of our original plan of one of the allstar inns(isn't that what the cheapest hotels onsite are called?)

It was so much fun! We went the beginning of Dec, and there was nobody there and the weather was perfect; for us

Oh, I forgot that tomorrow is Veteran's Day...I'm telling you, being sick has just really thrown me off course!

It's great that so many businesses can honor those who have and are serving our country.
